Holly Springs, NC, Jul. 31, 2025 — The Holly Springs Salamanders (roster) bring their 2025 season to a close on Sunday, August 3, with Fan Appreciation Night (tickets) at Ting Stadium. First pitch is at 5:05 p.m., but fans should plan to arrive early; the festivities begin at gate opening around 4:00 p.m.
Fans will enjoy an evening of fun featuring the team’s signature “9 Innings of Winning”: giveaways, prizes, and surprises in every inning, plus fan tributes, in‑game contests, and one last chance for kids to run the bases.
Season Recap: A Competitive Campaign from Start to Finish
With a 21–24 record, the Salamanders conclude the regular season in fourth place in the Coastal Plain League (CPL) East Division (standings). Leaders Peninula Pilots (29–15), along with Wilson Tobs and Wilmington Sharks, stayed ahead, but throughout the season, the Salamanders remained competitive, playing tough in most games and showcasing steady improvement. The 2025 season highlighted team fundamentals, player development, and growing fan engagement.
2025 Season Highlights
Historic First: Alexia Jorge Makes CPL History
This year, the Salamanders caught national attention when Alexia Jorge (catcher) became the first female player in Coastal Plain League history, and in her first game, recorded the first hit by a woman in league play. She delivered a message to fans, especially young girls: “Any girl can do anything.”
Her baseball journey began at age three playing tee ball with her brother, and she continued playing through high school despite being repeatedly told she wasn’t good enough or couldn’t compete with boys. Rather than being discouraged, she used that doubt as motivation, ultimately proving her place on the field.
Five Players Named Coastal Plain League All-Stars

The team earned league-wide acknowledgment with five players named to the 2025 CPL East Division All-Star roster:
AJ Campbell – Right-Handed Pitcher (RHP)
Matthew Driver – RHP
Trenton Lyons – Utility Player (Outfield / Designated Hitter)
Anthony Mitta – Second Base (2B)
Andrew Keller – Catcher (C)
