Holly Springs Approves 10-Year Licensing Agreement Renewal with Salamanders Baseball
Renewed agreement reflects updated terms aligned with the operations and vision of the current ownership group and town.
Holly Springs, NC, Apr. 16, 2025 — The Town of Holly Springs and the Holly Springs Salamanders have finalized a new 10-year licensing agreement that will keep the team playing at Ting Park through the 2035 season. The Holly Springs Town Council unanimously approved the agreement during its regular business meeting on Tuesday night.
“The Salamanders are ecstatic to extend our stadium lease with the Town of Holly Springs for another 10 years,” said Michael Villafana, General Manager of the Holly Springs Salamanders. “As we celebrate our 10th Anniversary in 2025, this extension will allow us to continue providing fun and affordable family entertainment for the residents of Holly Springs and all of southern Wake County.”
The Salamanders, members of the Coastal Plain League, have played at Ting Park since its opening in 2015. In 2017, the team was purchased by Capitol Broadcasting Company from league co-founder Jerry Pettit. Capitol Broadcasting also owns the Durham Bulls, one of the country's most successful minor league baseball franchises.
Key Terms of the Agreement
The license agreement includes the following financial terms:
Annual Rental Fee (Year 1): $29,540
Per Game Custodial Fee: $500 per game, based on 34 scheduled uses, totaling $17,000 per year
Annual Capital Investment Fee: $1,500
All three fees—the rental, custodial, and capital investment—will increase by 3% annually over the 10-year term.
Other provisions include:
A sales revenue share with the Town for town-hosted events, including a 50% share of all food and beverage revenue generated at those events
Free in-stadium advertising space provided to the Town for public service promotion
The agreement requires annual meetings between Town staff and team leadership to review terms and ensure compliance
A prohibition on metal cleats, to extend the life of the turf and reduce wear to the clubhouse
