A note from the Publisher:
As many of you know, Mike Kondratick was sworn in as Mayor of Holly Springs at the December 2nd, 2025, town council meeting. To start the new year, we asked Mayor Mike to pen a welcome letter to readers and residents. The as-submitted letter is below.
Hopefully, this is the first of many communications and updates we receive from Mayor Mike and council members throughout the year. When we do receive messages, we’ll certainly pass them along to you.
Thank you for reading Holly Springs Update!

A Note From the Mayor
Happy New Year, Holly Springs residents!
Thank you again for putting your faith and trust in me to serve as your mayor for the next four years.
During last year’s campaign, I talked about our Town government’s need to be more transparent, engaged, and responsive to your needs. In the month since the new members of the Town Council and I were sworn in, I’m proud to report that we’ve started making progress on all of these challenges.
In December, the Council voted to return public comment to the beginning of our meetings, where it will stay.
We’ve started the conversation about how I, and the members of Town Council, can most efficiently make ourselves available for meetings across our community.
We’ve taken our first steps to make Holly Springs more affordable, starting with a review of the 2023 affordable housing study.
We’ve asked Wake County for an update on the implementation of its non-discrimination ordinance.
On Monday, we’ll continue our efforts to reduce traffic and make it easier to get around town with the launch of our Holly Springs Hopper service (website).
Just as important as the actions we’re taking is the effort we’re all making — through every channel available — to ensure you understand why. Thank you to everyone who has commented and conversed with us. Though not every decision will be easy, expect that conversation to continue.
Some of you voted for me. Others voted for Mayor Mayefskie. About 70% of our residents didn’t vote. Regardless, my priority is serving everyone to the best of my ability. Please know that my door is always open, and I’m always interested in your feedback and ideas. Please reach out to me at mike.kondratick@hollyspringsnc.gov, 984-289-8110, on Facebook, or Insta.
With Respect,
Mayor Mike
