Frankie Frankk’s Turns the Corner: Popular Holly Springs Hot Dog Stand Moves to Bigger, Better Location
After a year of steady growth and sold-out days, the family-run stand relocates to Avent Ferry Road, and brings its loyal following with it.
Holly Springs, NC, Jul. 4, 2025 — What began as a classic hot dog stand on Main Street has now become one of Holly Springs’ most beloved small business stories. Frankie Frankk’s, a stand proudly rooted in the tradition of no-frills, high-quality hot dogs served with heart, has officially relocated to a new home at 1719 Avent Ferry Road — and for owner and founder Frank McGoldrick, it marks a significant milestone in a lifelong dream.
“Main Street was my home,” McGoldrick shared in a heartfelt video (link) posted on July 4. “Without that location, I don’t know if we’d be where we are today.” That spot, where Frankie Frankk’s operated for its first full year, served as the launchpad for a dedicated customer base and strong community following.
However, as word spread and crowds grew, the original location began to reveal its limitations. “The parking situation was just a little difficult,” he said. “It was probably the biggest complaint we had from customers.” The decision to move wasn’t easy, but he saw it as necessary to keep up with demand and expand the experience.
The stand’s new home at The Family Farm at 1719 Avent Ferry Road offers both space and possibility. “It’s a beautiful place, run by amazing people,” McGoldrick said, noting that Frankie Frankk’s had already built ties there during pumpkin and Christmas tree season events the year before. “I’m excited to call it my new home.”
Several recent reviews on social media reflect continued praise for the stand’s quality and service. One customer wrote, “These dogs do not disappoint! Very friendly service and tasty options at great prices.” Another noted, “Best hot dogs since we left NY. All the ingredients were fresh and service was great. Will definitely be a weekly stop for us.” A third reviewer added, “Better than the dirty water dawgs from Manhattan! Frank takes great pride in serving the freshest hot dogs with all the fixings.”
McGoldrick sees the move as an opportunity to bring more creativity and community engagement to the table. “There’s a whole window of opportunities I haven’t been able to explore yet,” he said, referencing past events like Dollar Dog Day and hinting at new ideas on the horizon. “This space is going to really take Frankie Frankk’s to the next level.”
Frankie Frankk’s first opened on May 16, 2024, and quickly built a reputation for not just food, but connection. McGoldrick regularly works alongside family members, including his brother, wife, and parents. He says that even customers from as far as Maryland, Wake Forest, and Cary have stopped by to show support.
The stand has also earned high marks for cleanliness and food safety, receiving “A” ratings on both of its Wake County health inspections, including a perfect 100 in May 2024 and a 98.50 in January 2025.
Fans can find Frankie Frankk’s at its new regular spot Wednesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Family Farm at 1719 Avent Ferry. This week, they’ll also be serving up hot dogs at the Holly Springs Independence Day Celebration on July 5 at Sugg Farm, part of the town’s official holiday festivities hosted by the Town of Holly Springs.
“This is chapter two,” McGoldrick said.
“And honestly, if it wasn’t for all of you guys, we wouldn’t have had to move. You’ve truly allowed me to live out a dream of mine that I’ve had for many, many years.”
